Forever Young: Tribute to the 80's

Playful and fun, despite the rain! That is what I look for in most Winter shoots ( :



Our idea was to play around with color and textures, with bright bold lips hi-lighting each look.

Erin Madison, a new favorite muse, arrived in Portland from Eugene for our shoot, so of course we were going to shoot rain or shine. The first half of the shoot was perfectly sunny and deceptively cold, but by the end of the shoot we were having to duck for cover in the forest!

Top, top secret surprise.

So, I have a top, top secret surprised planned for Jelani this Valentines day. I am not usually one for big surprises. Not that I don't LOVE receiving them, but honestly- all the planning and keeping my mouth shut required to give SOMEONE ELSE a surprise is beyond me. Until this year!

This year, I have managed to put together a fun surprise (no clues to be posted unfortunately!) for this big, girly, lovers weekend.



To kind of get myself in the mood for this glitter, paper-heart month, I thought I'd start playing around with some red lipsticks, maybe even add a little "somethin somethin" to my wardrobe in RED.
I'm on the lookout, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know! A great lip color, or maybe a red necklace would be awesome!

Give us Your Take on a "Fresh Face"

I was sooo excited to buy my very first Lancome lipstick in a delicious coral last year. For my generation, lipstick has been under the radar all through our makeup-wearing years. The last time I remember lipstick being "in" was in the early 90's when I would sneak into my mothers makeup kit to test out her fire-engine red on my lips and often, rubbed into my cheeks.
Well, welcome to a brand new era where true lip color (none of this colorless gloss counts) reins once again!
