Portland Fashion Photographer: Lavenda's Closet
Another blog post on some of my holiday haul... The scarf is Marc Jacobs, striped top from Ella's Godmother, Lori, from JCREW and the skirt is Talulah. I actually picked up the skirt on my last trip to NYC from Aritzia...

I wanted to pair this striped, pretty shirt with something a little more fun, but then play down the sequins and color with the black scarf and my ZARA jacket.

The shoes are by Senso and I love this nude booty with bare legs, because I feel like it extends my legs and makes my 5'4 frame look much longer.

You can find more Senso shoes here on Solestruck's site!

Sick Week(s)
I have been in this "sick fog" for about 3 weeks now. My 3 year old daughter just started pre-school last month and between her pre-school germs and my busy-equals-stressful summer I am finding myself knocked on my ass for pretty much this entire Fall season. (So far anyhow).
The silver lining of it all? I get to be at home, snuggled up with tissues and hot tea at my work desk.

Motivated by premier boredom, I finally published my new photography website during this sick spell and also updated my blog and tumblr sites. If you haven't checked it out, here IT IS. Designed by the very talented Jelani Memory. While I am looking forward to a time when I am not a proximity slave to bathrooms-thus toilet paper- thus the ability to wipe my sniffly nose, I am not altogether unhappy with these past few weeks of under the weather catch up!

Portland Fashion Photographer: This Girl
I love, love, love to play through photography. It's a relief to step behind my camera and to drop all expectations- to simply observe, interact and then capture. And not to be all cheesy or anything... but it's very nice be inspired by new moments. That's why I like shooting new locations.
The test today was super fun because I had never seen the model, Kara Jean's house. We shot for the first time early summer when there was no need to be indoors. But this time we planned to use her house because of a snapshot I had seen of her bedroom. And her house was perfection!
The house was new to me- the colors, the smells, the sounds- And every interaction I had inside the house was a first, so I felt inspired to simply move things around and play. Thanks goodness she has a terrific sense of style- that certainly doesn't hurt! The walls were bright, the furniture was vintage and spoke of character... It was cool and fun and playful.
Here is a favorite shot inside Kara's bedroom, against a wall decorated with tree bark:

Portland Fashion Photography: Night Street
Some spontaneous shots from a recent shoot for Isaac Hers, an awesome hi-end boutique in the Pearl. I shoot guest clients wearing Isaac Hers in their own style once a month for their blog. This week I had the opportunity to shoot the new manager for Solestruck, Melissa Lachance.

Kicken it at the Coast: Portland Fashion Photographer
Had fun walking around. Ella saw sand for the first time and screamed "Sand!" and then ran away from all the kites. They are like scary dragon monsters in her little eyes. Let's see, there was a carousal that she loved, a little $0.25 horse machine that seemed to be 10x cooler to her and the best yet- NO RAIN! Wait, maybe there were a few sprinkles here and there.
We found this awesome cotton candy machine maker and let all our house rules of minimal sugar fly out the window. It was fun! Ella tried Rock candy before throwing it on the beach. Yes, she tried to salvage it. That night, it was no wonder poor Ella stayed up till midnight. Even with the lights turned out she was fumbling in the dark hotel room looking for God knows what.
Despite that- I feel so rested and happy after our little get away! Hooray for Oregon coast ( :
