Fashion with Kelly: First in Class

As we enter the cozier months, it is all about finding pieces that you cannot help but live in, and dressing them up so that they are more socially acceptable. As you know, I'm all about wearing clothing that is secretly lazy, so it is no wonder that the sweatshirt would be a key player for my style philosophy. By using leather, brass, and silk crepe for materials and architectural shaping throughout, the eye is tricked into thinking that the crewneck is fashion-forward. I love how sneaky it is. Shhhhh. If you don't tell, I won't either.

Fashion with Kelly: Fresh to Death

Honestly, I cannot recall a time where I have been so excited about jeans: from waxed jeans, to stretchy skinny jeans, to the unique patterned ones, it seems we have finally arrived in an age where designers are attempting to flatter all figures. When I first found out about the boyfriend-style jean a few years ago, I felt quite bummed because a girl with curves cannot usually pull off baggy styles such as these. But after trying a few pairs on recently, I'm sold. I paired this distressed style with a smart duo of grey glasses & a button-up, while keeping the accessories rather grand. This makes for a great outfit to take out to happy hour with your lady crew or to debut at a fun weekend event.

Really excited for this silk Sanctuary top from EG Page Boutique. The silk is very soft, but durable and even after splashing some water on it after washing my face this morning, it didn't dry with water spots or anything.
My new Kork-ease sandals (now on sale at Nordstrom) arrived this week as well and I am wearing them with EVERYTHING! They are really light to walk in and the white leather is perfect for every summer outfit.

Lavenda's Closet: Florals for Spring

Have been slammed like a mo-fo sine late winter and haven't been posting many outfits except for insta-on-the-go... Easy iphone shots- that sort of thing.
Anyhow, here's a lovely little outfit I styled for a shoot with Robert Hamilton recently. The top is by Brady Lange, one of my favorite Portland designers and super HOT right now. He just had a recent pop-up at Solestruck shoes.

I own a few of his amazing pieces and this little floral crop top is a custom fitted halter that I've worn with high wasted jeans and skirts. Love it with these linen H&M shorts best though. The bright pink zipper up the back is my favorite, personal touch.

Lavenda's Closet

Here's an outfit I wore for a shoot a couple weeks back. Black top is this great, hand knit piece by Trouve and the shorts are acid wash denim. Scored these from a photo shoot with Tied Up and Tousled  designer, Kate Rutter.
