Timex: Chronograph Watch

Just received my chronograph Timex watch in gold! I love the masculine feel of this watch to mix in with my winter arm candy. I feel like it can be worn alone or stacked up as you see here.

You'll see this pop up in my daily outfits OFTEN this winter I'm sure :) See more photos at Lavenda's Closet.

Design Week: Meet some of the Faces Behind Domestic

I wanted to do a follow up post on the amazing stylists who were on site for the Trunk Show. Jasmine, the genius behind this 4 day event was on site looking sleek and sophisticated in her AMAZING camo denim.

 photo domestic3_zps5a9763c7.jpg

I've worked with emmy-winning, Amanda, the featured stylist of the trunk show previously and it was fun to see her in her element on Saturday. She had beautiful pieces pulled and displayed throughout the show room.

Portland-famous, Charity, (if you haven't partied with this girl, you're missing out) arrived in a self-made ensemble for Adidas.

 photo domestic1_zps02b96cf5.jpg

The lovely ladies of Cabana had a room set up as well and had some gorgeous pieces from up-and-coming designers on their racks.

I had to skip out for rehearsals, so got my shopping done early, but the ladies had a succesful trunk show and will hopefully be planning a repeat for next year!

The Pretty Peackock: Mother Daughter Necklaces

Was soooo excited to open these beautiful necklaces from The Pretty Peackock! The set included one for myself and one for my daughter, Ella. Her chain is smaller and looks more delicate, but is sturdy enough for an adventurous 4-year old. (My girl plays hard.)
Friends and family kept asking about our necklaces and Ella was excited to show how they work. She loves the fact that her tiny heart pendant fits into the cutout of mine.

Portland Fashion Week: Night 2

 photo 1371651_10151572211397257_884033598_n_zpsa60873d3.jpg

Night two was my FAVORITE night this weekend at Portland fashion week. Hello Eliza put on an amazing performance that included chains and zombie-like models sporting alternative, grunge apparel. Brady Lange's show was like a 1950's Spearmint commercial with beautiful models bopping down the runway and giving each other high-fives halfway down the runway. I think it helps to add personal style touches to the overall show and this is something both designers knew!

Portland Fashion Week: First Night

 photo PFWblogpost-103_zps551a81f8.jpg

Had a great time getting ready for the show with fellow fashion bloggers, Jade and Samantha last night. There was some last minute scrambling to pull my look together (I left my jewelry at home) but isn't the best figuring all that out with fashion bloggers? I actually gave Jade my card and let her pick out a necklace for me while I finished up in makeup.

The Convention Center location for this year's show was a sweet choice. The vibe was somewhere right in the middle of swanky and intimate, with light projections leading us around the huge space and a great seating set up. (Not a bad seat in the house).

The red carpet was fun and the designer booths gave us a lot to do between taking pictures at the photo-booth and visiting other attendees.

The show itself started out beautifully. I was aware that there would be some alumni showing last night, but it seemed to deter some from staying for the full show. I snapped some of my favorite looks for you to check out.

Perhaps my favorite crowd reaction was to the risque collection by an AI Alumni which included mostly sheer pieces in an all-lingerie collection.

I wanted to give Luna Bars a shout out as well. The ladies were so fabulous and let us come back at least a dozen times to "sample" their bars. (I was hungry and probably ate 3 full bars total.) The Coconut Chocolate bar was my FAVORITE and I love the ingredient list on these natural bars. Try them if you aren't already a fan!

Portland Fashion Week: Style Sponsor

So, so excited for Portland Fashion Week this year. Even though I was swamped with on-location gigs this summer
and missed some action, I was able to track the going-on's of Jessica Kane- the woman behind the curtains of
PFW. Her and her mad-awesome crew have created quite a buzz these past couple of months and Portland is
more excited than ever for the weekend's line up.

 photo fashionsponserfashionweek_zps6119e744.png

As an official style sponsor of the weekends events, I have been able to experience first-hand the level of professionalism and the sharp fashion sense of the crew myself. Since a picture is a thousand words, I will pull my weight the actual night of the events by grabbing shots of the delicious styles walking along the red carpet and mingling before and after the shows. Also, look for some candid shots of teams prepping and models looking fierce even off the runway.
I'll be recapping both Saturday and Monday morning so check back then!

Ella's Closet: Layering Stripes for Fall

We picked up this little blazer because the structure gives the illusion that it fits well longer than a cardigan would. I'm always looking for ways to extend the life of Ella's clothes, so blazers are a staple in her closet.
I layered her up in case it warms up throughout the day with a simple JCREW t-shirt and a purple velvet skirt. We picked up these little (faux) suede booties on sale last year and they finally fit, so I threw them into the mix to lend the the whole outfit an earthy tone.

Teen Vogue: Beauty Look of the Day

I just realized that I forgot to share some recent (and fabulous) news:

I was featured in Teen VOGUE as a "beauty look of the day" blogger!

As you may know, I try and blog my personal fashion frequently through Lavenda's Closet and have been keeping it up for a couple years... I never expected to find my face on the TeenVOGUE blog and feel so thankful for the mini-team who made that happen!

Unfortunately, the post was really short and they did not credit the talented, Janelle Hayden who did my hair and makeup for my bio image and Travis Geny, who snapped this shot during a shoot session.

 photo forblogmevogue_zps06e2d744.jpg

They asked me how I had styled my hair the morning of the interview, but in the photo featured it was the fabulous, Janelle who did her magic!

Lounge Lizard: Red Wing Shoes Event

Stopped in to check out the beautiful event at Lizard Lounge event last night, celebrating Red Wing's re-launch of 2 iconic shoe styles, 875 and 877. I was delighted to get invited to this event, since it was my first time stepping into the sprawling store and I had always wanted to peruse their inventory. Whoo hoo! I was not disappointed!

Of course, I was pretty impressed with the event itself and RedWing shoes. Paul and Williams did a beautiful job producing the event and right when I walked in, I found myself introduced to the brand through a creative installation. The shoes were a part of a bigger story and I had the opportunity to appreciate the brand and learn a bit about it's origins.

The vibe of the party once inside was exactly what I image is RedWing's demographic. I love their boots myself and check it out- I can see them on some of these beautiful peeps as well.

Love the trend of live haircuts at parties recently. They had a sweet set up at Lizard Lounge, as well as flowing kegs and drink options for attendees. The photo booth was fun too! Delia and I jumped in and were happy to see the printer spit out a copy for each of us.

I wore a really simple outfit- AE denim top with an Isaac Her's maxi and my Tied Up and Tousled necklace. Ran into one of my favorite Portland photographers- Boone Rodgriquez who was the official event photographer and that cutie in the red-shirt? She was one of the producers of the event- Delia Tethong.

Really excited for this silk Sanctuary top from EG Page Boutique. The silk is very soft, but durable and even after splashing some water on it after washing my face this morning, it didn't dry with water spots or anything.
My new Kork-ease sandals (now on sale at Nordstrom) arrived this week as well and I am wearing them with EVERYTHING! They are really light to walk in and the white leather is perfect for every summer outfit.
